Danny May is a global AI tech entrepreneur and industry speaker who founded Lingmo, a translation and transcription software startup with no IT or AI background. His idea to develop a real-time language translation technology to break down the global language barrier came after an embarrassing situation in China when his passport was stolen. He downloaded a competitor’s translation app to liaise with a Chinese policeman and said “Hello how are you?” The translation the police officer heard was “Hello, I love you”.
Since then Danny and his team have developed their own machine learning translation and partnered with IBM enabling Artificial Intelligence to be used in the products.
