How are AI and Aquaculture playing an important role in feeding the world's growing population? Can new methods and technologies enable us to produce more with less?

Aquaticode uses machine learning to solve some of the industry’s most significant challenges – including detection, identification and prediction of relevant performance traits across multiple species. Artificial intelligence is expected to be a driving force behind ‘Aquaculture 2.0’, leading to advances in farm management, animal welfare, and biological performance. This ‘blue food revolution’ is, perhaps, why deep tech start-ups like Aquaticode are emerging, attracting top talents from tech-focused regions such as Tel Aviv, São Paulo, and Silicon Valley.

Stian Rognlid is the CEO of Aquaticode, an early-stage company that builds AI for aquaculture. Innovation has been a constant throughout his career, both as an angel investor, management consultant, and through leading Skretting’s global RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) efforts. Originally from the Arctic, he has lived in the U.S., Brazil, and Ireland before settling in the southwest of Norway. He holds a business-oriented MSc from the University of Tromsø.
